How to choose a body glitter spray

Body glitter sprays look alike on the shelf. Five things on the can tell you whether one suits a festival, a concert or a night out.
Five things to check on the can
- What the glitter is. Traditional loose glitter is tiny pieces of plastic. If you want to avoid microplastics, look for a spray that says it is free from them. Both Glitzify listings state that it is free from microplastics and parabens.
- How it comes off. A temporary shimmer should rinse away. Glitzify rinses out of your hair and off your skin with shampoo or hand wash.
- Where you can use it. Some sprays are for hair only. Glitzify is made for hair, body and clothes.
- Scent. If you are sensitive to scents, look for fragrance-free. Glitzify is fragrance-free.
- Size and finish. Glitzify is a 140 ml can of silver shimmer.
Spray or loose glitter?
A spray puts the silver where you aim it, with no pots or brushes to carry, and it is dry in about a minute. That makes it easy to carry to a festival, a concert or a night out.
How to spray it, for every look
- Give the can a good shake. The rattle is the mixing bead, keeping the glitter evenly spread.
- Hold it 20-30 cm (8-12 in) from your hair, body or clothes.
- A light mist gives a subtle shine; layer it for more intense sparkle.
- Allow about a minute to dry, and you're ready to go. It stays all night.
Afterwards, rinse it out of your hair and off your skin with shampoo or hand wash.
Safety
- The spray is flammable: use it away from candles, sparklers and open flames.
- Keep it away from your eyes, and do not use it on broken skin.
- For ages 16 and over.
